May 16 VICTORIES!!!
The BELC
Women played 2 games Sunday represening the Excelsiors
very well.
Games were played at the Icelands Fields in Mississauga,
and our Women are now competing at the "A"
Level.
First Game was against Burlington Chiefs Senior
Women and our Excels cruised to a 16 to 4 victory
2nd Game was against a tough Six Nations Womens'
Team. At half time the score was tied 4 to 4 in
a defensive battle. With 4:34 left in the game the
Excelsior Women were down by two goals. A well placed
time out at that time by our coach at 4:28 reminding
our players we were not done yet, and we could win
this thing turned out to be just what the doctor
ordered. Our Women cranked out a goal at 4:07, a
goal at 3:18 and the winner at .52 seconds to win
the hard fought battle 9-8. Six Nations was penalized
with 5 Yellow Flags 2 for checks to the head and
3 dangerous plays to our 1 Yellow.
A great character builder for our squad and a notice
to all teams that the Excelsior Women are the real
deal in 'A' ball.
