Brampton moved out in front 2-1 in the first period
with goals from Andrew Marcoux (Andrew Potter, Michael
Burke) and
JJ LaForet (Dana Stevens, Jason Jones). Sean Gillies
scored for Orangeville.
Scoring opened up in the second period with Orangeville
scoring 5 times to Brampton's 3. Mat McLeod, Sean Gillies,
Cody McMahon and Adam Jones (2) scored for Orangeville.
Brampton's tallys came from Burke (Cameron Flint,
Ryan McClelland), Scott Tinning (McClelland, Burke),
and Stevens (Flint, Burke).
Brampton's Flint tied the game early into the third
and action went back and forth for 15 minutes as the
floor became increasing wet and slippery. The Northmen
put the game away in the dying minutes with goals from
Jeremy Noble,
McLeod, and Greg Harnett. Brampton picked up 4 minutes
in penalties, Orangeville was in the box for 2 minutes.

Adam Jones and Brandon Ivey. Dane Stevens (Pat Saunders,
JJ LaForet) scored Brampton's lone marker in the first
period.
Brampton edged back to tie the game up by the end of
the second period. Michael Burke and Stevens (Burke,
McGourty) scored the Excels' goals while John Quarrie
added the Northmen's lone goal.
Orangeville took control in the third scoring three
times while Brampton was only to find the back of Orangeville's
net once. Andrew Suitor, Cody McMahon, and Jeremy Noble
scored for Orangeville while Pat Saunders picked up
Brampton's lone marker. Brampton picked up 8 minutes
in penalties, Orangeville was in the box for 6 minutes.

with goals from Cody McMahon, Jeremy Noble, Matt MacLeod
and Adam Jones. Brampton's tallies came from Scott Tinning
(Michael Burke, Pat Saunders) and Dylan Evans (Kyle
Rubisch).
Orangeville outscored Brampton again in the second
period pushing their lead to 7-4. Jones added two more
goals while John Quarrie picked up the Northmen's other
lone tally. Ryan McClelland and Cameron Flint (Steve
Fryer) scored for the Excelsiors.
Brandon Ivey and Glen Bryan finished off the Orangeville's
scoring in the third, while Andrew Potter added Brampton's
final goal of the night. Brampton picked up 12 minutes
in penalties, Orangeville was in the box for 10 minutes.

Orangeville hit early and fast taking a commanding
7-1 lead by the end of the first. Scoring for Orangeville
were Matt MacLeod, Glen Bryan,John Quarrie and two from
each of Greg Harnett and Adam Jones. Brampton's lone
marker came from Scott Tinning (Jason Jones, Ben McCullough).
The Northmen pushed their lead to 12-5 by the end of
the second. Jeremy Noble, Matt Eckert, Greg Harnett,
Craig England, and Brendon Ivey picked up the Northmen
goals. Excels' markers came from Brendan Clarke (Adam
McGourty), Andrew Potter (Michael Burke, Dane Stevens),
Cameron Flint (Jason Jones, Kevin Floris), and Scott
Tinning McGourty, Kyle Rubisch).
Ivey finished off the Orangeville's scoring in the
third. A number of penalties were handed out as the
game progressed with Brampton picking up 73 minutes
to Orangeville's 69.

A few minutes into the second period, lights went out
in Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre as a result of a
severe lightning storm on Monday night.
When the light did go out at the 17:32 mark of the
second, Orangeville was up 4-3. Orangeville goals came
from Andrew Suitor, Brendon Ivey and two from Adam Jones.
Scoring for Brampton were Dane Stevens (Andrew Potter,
Scott Tinning), Ryan McClelland (Pat Saunders, Potter),
and Saunders (Michael Burke, Stevens).
Part 2 which resumed Tuesday night saw Brampton move
ahead of Orangeville in the second period by a margin
of 6-5. Cameron Flint (Burke), Burke (Potter, Tinning),
and Ryan McClelland (Burke) scored for the Excelsiors
while Jeremy Noble added Orangeville's final marker.
A tough defensive game ensured for the third period
with neither team scoring. Brampton ended up with 14
minutes in penalties while the Northmen picked up 10.
Game 4 will be played Thursday August 13 at 8:00pm

Strong team discipline and intensity throughout the
game were key factors in Brampton's second win in the
Eastern Candian Jr. A Lacrosse Championship finals.
Brampton opened the scoring at the 28 second period
with a goal from Ryan McClelland (Andrew Potter, Dylan
Evans).
Orangeville responded with two goals from Adam Jones
and Mike Teeter, ending the first with a Northmen 2-1
lead.
Brampton outscored Orangeville in the second 5-3. Cameron
Flint (unassisted), Potter (Ben McCullough, Flint),
Chad Cummings Potter, Chris Corbeil), Michael Burke
(Potter, Dane Stevens), and Dylan Evans (Stevens, Corbeil)
scored for Brampton. Orangeville's goals came from Jeremy
Noble and two from Adam Jones.
The Northmen made an early rally in the third, on a
goal from Craig England. Brampton, however, hit for
two on goals from Burke (Stevens, Potter) and Potter
(Burke, Stevens), ending the game at 8-6 for Brampton.

Tough defense, strategic offence, two-way transition,
and solid goaltending came together last night to solidify
Brampton's
first win in the Eastern Canadian Jr. A playoff round,
Orangeville's first defeat in the 2009 playoffs.
Brampton led 4-1 after period on goals from Jason Jones
(Scott Tinning, Dane Stevens), Dylan Evans (Stevens,
Ryan McClelland), and two from Andrew Potter (Michael
Burke, JJ LaForet; Tinning, Burke). The Northmen's Brandon
Ivey added Orangeville's lone marker.
Good two play in the second with only one goal being
added by Orangeville's Jeremy Noble.
The third period was all Brampton with goals from Burke
(Cameron Flint, Evans), Stevens (Evans, Burke) and two
from each of Adam McGourty (unassisted) and Scott Tinning
(Fint; Stevens, Potter). Sean Gillies added Orangeville's
final goal of the night.
Both teams found their way to penalty box as the game
progressed, with each team picking up 45 minutes in
penalties.
The second game of the Eastern Canadian finals will
take place Friday August 7 at the Powerade Centre in

The Jr. Excelsiors now begin to prepare for the Eastern
Canadian Jr. A Lacrosse Championship drive, the first
time since 1994, after defeating Burlington 15-7 to
finish their second semi-final series. Brampton set
the tone in the first three minutes with two goals from
Dylan Evans (Ryan McClelland, Kyle Rubisch; Kyle Andrews).
Jordan McIntosh followed with a powerplay goal for Burlington
before Scott Tinning (Dane Stevens, Adam McGourty; Stevens,
Andrew Potter) added two more Brampton. Burlington's
Kevin Brownell and Brampton's Andrew Potter finished
off the scoring in the first period, leaving Brampton
ahead 5-2 at the end of the first period.
Brampton added five more markers in the second while
Burlington added four. Scoring for Brampton were Tinning
(Michael Burke, Potter), Stevens (McClelland), Cameron
Flint (Steve Fryer) and two from McGourty (Wray, Burke).
Scoring for Burlington were Chris Moulsen, Josh Ruys,
and two from Kiel Matisz.
It was all Brampton in the third period as Brampton
scored five times while Burlington responded with one
lone marker.
Excelsior markers came from Burke (Evans, McGourty),
Andrews (Jason Jones, Flint), Jones (Burke, Tinning),
and two
from McClelland (Chris Corbeil; Burke, Flint). Moulsen
pick up Burlington's final tally.
Rock solid defence and goaltending, a well balanced
offence, and an increasingly noticeable transition game
were simply
too much for the Burlington squad. Burlington ended
the game with 16 minutes in penalties while Brampton
finished the
game with 10 minutes.

A never-say-die Burlington team staved off elimination
last night by defeating Brampton
in overtime, 14-11.
Burlington marked their territory early in the game
moving out in front of Brampton 3-2
by the end of the first. Scoring for Burlington were
Wilson-Kirby, MacIntosh, and Ruys.
Bramptonís goals came from Dane Stevens and Cameron
Flint (Scott Tinning, Chad Cummings).
Burlington continued to advance in the second period,
increasing their lead to 7-5. McIntosh,
Ruys, Hicks, and Crepinsek scored for the Chiefs while
Kyle Rubisch, Michael Burke
(Andrew Potter), and Jason Jones (Dylan Evans, Michael
Burke) tallied for the Excelsiors.
Brampton's comeback in the third began with three unanswered
goals in the third by Burke
(Potter, Stevens) and two from Potter (McClelland, Burke;
Burke, Chris Corbeil). Burlington
responded with goals from Ruys, Hicks and Mann. The
Excelsiors forced the game into
overtime with goals from McClelland (Stevens) and Potter
(Stevens, Burke) in the final
two minutes of the game.
It was all Burlington in the overtime as Burlington
outscored Brampton 4-1, ending the game
at 14-11. Ruys, Brownell, MacIntosh and Midwinter put
up numbers for the Chiefs while
Rubisch provided Brampton's lone marker. Brampton finished
the game with 18 minutes
in penalties, while Burlington registered 12 minutes.
Next game is Wednesday July 29 at 8:00pm at the Powerade
Centre in Brampton.

Brampton demonstrated its firepower last night as they
downed Burlington 14-6
to take a commanding 3-0 Series lead in the Eastern
Canadian semi-finals.
The Jr. Excelsiors jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the
first period before Burlington
was able to register their first tally. Michael Burke
(Andrew Potter, Dylan Evans),
Dane Stevens (Burke, Kyle Andrews), Ben McCullough (Matt
Wray), Evans
(Stevens, Chad Cummings), Jason Jones, and Ryan McClelland
(Scott Tinning, Cummings)
had each registered goals before the 10:00 minute mark.

the lone Burlington goal with Stevens (Burke, Tinning)
adding his second, as the period
came to a close.
Stevens (Jones, Potter) added his third to open up
scoring in the second period
before Burlington went on the attack with three unanswered
goals, two from
Kevin Brownell and one from Josh Ruys. Evans (McClelland,
Cummings) and
Stevens (McClelleand, Potter) responded with two for
Brampton while Ryan Learn
added a closer to end the second period at 10-5 for
the Excels.
Brampton continued to dominate at both the offensive
and defensive ends of the floor.
Stevens added his fifth of the night while Potter (Chris
Corbeil, Steve Fryer; Tinning, Burke)
picked up two and McClelland (Jones, Tinning) added
his second of the night. Brownell
added Burlington's lone third period marker. The final
score, 14-6 Brampton. The Excels
picked up 20 minutes in penalties while Burlington had
12 minutes.

three goals.

Brampton moved ahead in the second period 6-5 on goals
